We have had two group meetings and in our past group meeting we made the decision to work with the elderly in order to help bridge the generation gap during a water aerobics class. We plan on making the class more enjoyable by providing them with dance lessons from current up to date music. We have been rehearsing the dance and trying to finalize all the things we will do. We have decided to have one person take pictures and do video while the other three of us teach the dance. It also appears that one of our group members may have dropped the class because she has not responded to any of our groups e-mails and is no longer showing up to class.
We meet for about an hour yesterday and started to work on our group paper.
Alexis is sending out directions to the location of the pool where we will perform for the class at 7 am. We should all receive these soon and have all completed the volunteer forms required by the organization
Looking forward to putting on a great show and entertaining the elderly!
Throughout the weekend we will continue to work on the group paper and organize our final presentation in order to get everything ready for our class presentation.
one last note: We have been forgetting to use the blog as a means of communication and are going to try to remember to use this for the rest of the time remaining.
Our next meeting will be held Wednesday after class to review the dance and prepare any last minute details for the project on Thursday.
Today after class we had another meeting to rehearse the dance routine that we plan on teaching the elderly. We decided to have back up songs and dances just in case we have more time than planned. Alexis sent all of us the directions to the place and described how to get there. We also took a look at our group paper and continued to work on that. I will be bringing a camera and so will Sam in case one of us forgets. Tomorrow we are going to show up to the organization at 7:45 rehearse the dance routine and meet and greet the individuals that we will be working with. This was about an hour long meeting and after completing our group project we will meet again on Sunday to start working on our final presentation and putting everything together.
We held the event this morning and it turned out to be a great success. The participants in the water aerobics class loved the new twist that we had added to their daily routine. They enjoyed learning how to dance to a new song in the water and seemed to pick up the routine easily. The instructor of the course was extremely nice and allowed us to take over her class. We even got the chance to see how boring the previous classes had been and knew right away that our class was going to provide great entertainment. I think that we accomplished our goals today and now will be focusing on the paper and presentation. One woman even requested that we get her the name of the song so that she could incorporate this routine into her own water aerobics class that she will be teaching in the summer.
We will continue to stay in contact with one another throughout the weekend by e-mail and will continue to work on the paper and powerpoint.
Our next meeting has been set for Monday at 2:30 due to people being out of town. We plan on having the paper finished by the weekend after we have all looked it over and discussed any possible changes to it. Then on Monday all we have left is to work on the Presentation.
We had our last meeting this afternoon where we made final revisions on the paper and finished up the powerpoint. This was an easy process for us to do because we work together well and had most of the information well organized. We are looking forward to giving our presentation and having the project completed. We plan on meeting one more time to practice our final presentation before class on Wednesday when we have to do it. We are going to go home and make our own note cards for the final presentation.
